Can a person use tru oil or similar on arrows? Something that you can rub or spray on without having to buy dip tubes. I'll be dying some cane and then I'll prolly use minwax stain on the woodies. (spruce probably...)

The only thing I use a dip tube for is the final clear coats. Paint and stain are all put on by brush. Paint goes on faster than you'd think with a 3/4" brush. For stain I generally use a disposable foam brush.
If you use something like a polyurethane for the clear coat it works fine with brush application. But doen't use a foam brush with polyurethane, it has a tendancy to leave bubbles.
