Mildly twisted limb
« on: January 19, 2010, 06:47:00 PM »
I have a recurve with one mildly out of line limb. It shoots great as is, but I was wondering if this can be straightened by judicious sanding of an edge?

Or is there another method?

I'm a master woodworker so as long as I understand how to do it I can do it myself- make a tillering post etc.

Thanks

Joshua

There was a story in Trad Bowhunter about that 1 or 2 issues ago. Warm water a gentle twisting. I know it works because I have done it myself.

X2.  Also works on badly twisted limbs as I found out.

I use hot water on the stove and use the steam with alittle work it fixes it. I have fixed a few and they have been fine ever sence. Just be careful not to get it to hot
