Striker Stinger TDL
« on: January 20, 2010, 09:38:00 AM »
Just placed my order for a new Striker Stinger TDL. 58" 54@28. Bacote and Osage riser with Osage accents and overlays. Bacote limbs with Action Boo core and Osage tip overlays.

Anybody else have one of these bows? If so please post pics of your bow and your set up.

It's gonna be a long wait till the end of April...

I have a Striker Stinger 58" 50# @ 28"  It's made out of Bacote wth red accent stripes..Beautiful bow and shoots great.  I don't have any experience with Rick's takedowns.  I've seen them and drawn a couple in person.  Soundslike you made a good choice.  Your wood combo's sound pretty.  You won't be dissapointed.  Rick is a very nice guy, great to deal with and does high quality work.

Shad
60" 54# @ 28"'s
My son also had Rick make a 58" one piece for him at the same time. We drove to Ricks place and he fitted grips to our hands. I also have a 60" one piece I bought from another tradganger. I've shot and own a number of custom bows and none were any better than the stingers. I love the grip. I'm sure you will be happy with yours.

I have a 58" one piece with the action bamboo 50#@28" and I love it. I like shooting woodies out of it but I have carbons for it too and it shoots both very well. But it has a harder punch with the woodies because of weight.

It was a toss up for me when I order one,,,almost went with the TD. My next one will be a TD.

This is the only bow I've ever owned that did not have a preference for arrows and, or spine. It shoots 55/75 carbon,2018 aluminum, 2020 aluminum, 2117 aluminum, 2216 aluminum, 2219 aluminum all very well with 145 grain field tips. I'm going to test it with broadheads when the weather gets better. Have only been able to shoot about 12 yards in the basement since I got it around January 5th.

I'll second that.  I met Rick last year at the Eastern Sportsman Show in Harrisburg PA.  He let me shoot a 58" 50# @ 28" Stinger demo bow.  He just hnded me random arrows from his back quiver...Woods, aluminum, carbon..Have no idea the spines.  The bow shot them all.  Granted the range was about 8-10yds.
My bow shoots Heritage 150's, 250's, 2018's and POC's at 20yrds with 125 gr tips fine...I have a Savannah that is the same draw weight that won't come close to that. It's picky with spine.

I think that you will be impressed with how fast your Stinger is.  I picked one up on "you know where-bay" 58", 47@28".  (Not a take-down though) I'm having a lot of fun with it.
Have a nice day!

I am going to get to shoot it right Shad. I will take it when I work at the beginning of the week so you can still have it on the weekend.
