They are real teeth.

These are the types of ivory.

Types of ivory
Elephant and mammoth ivory from the tusks of bull elephants and mammoths. Walrus ivory from the tusks of a bull walrus. Sperm Whale and Killer Whale ivory Narwhal ivory Hippopotamus ivory Warthog ivory Elk Ivory from the bugling teeth of bull elk.

Saved the Ivories from my 1st Trad kill elk knowing someday I would use them.Got Jack Kempf to inlay an Ivory in the riser of my Kwyk-Styk. Turned out looking pretty cool.

That my friends is one of coolest things I have seen...mine is a necklace but perhaps it can be converted to something like that!

Here are a couple I have done. One in a friends longbow I built for him, the other on mine. Neither ivory is mine     :(
