I will be going to a Rick Welch school/hunt in a couple of weeks, so I will be asking all my questions then, except that one incredibly important question: "Other than yourself is Barry Buckley (BUCKSTER) the best shot you have ever seen?" Inquiring minds want to know!    :D

If you could shoot with/against any of the "Legends" who would it be? Who of the current Traditional Shooting Stars would you/ have you shot with/ against?

Allan,

Are you going on the Texas hunt with Rick? That's where I'll be doing the interview.

Allan,

Why don't you stay at my house??  I live 30 minutes away from Rick and about 45 minutes from Mr. White's house, where Rick does the clinic.

Inquiring minds know that my shooting is fair at best!!

Nyron -- Yes, I will be going to Texas for the school/hunt with Rick. I will be there on February 5 and 6 with Jason Scott (Magicman).

Barry -- Many thanks for the invitation. I would definitely take you up on your offer except that Rick will be in Texas for the school/hunt, so I guess that's where I ought to be too. I definitely plan to find out from Rick whether he is scared that you will knock him off his pedestal.   :D  Maybe with that beautiful new Black Rock you will. If I get over there to Arkansas near you I will absolutely make sure we get together to fling some arrows, eat some vittles and shoot the breeze.

Lowrider and Trip:

That is an excellent question. I have trided to duplicate Rick's double anchor while shooting split finger and I can not do it. I'll look in to the matter.

Allan, do you mean MARCH 5 and 6? I'll be there on March 1, 2, and part of 3. I look forward to meeting you if we overlap.

Question  The 'Apache draw" was that used by the Apache Indians or did someone just call it that?

1.I anchor with my finger in the corner of my lip, my thumb knuckle at the angle of my jaw (which is very close to my earlobe) and my nose on the cock feather.
If I already have an anchor different from the thumb knuckle on the earlobe, will you want me to change it if I take your course? How much leeway is there to keep existing form elements?

2.Also, can you describe your personal practice session? Is there a routine that you use? How do you react to a bad day in practice, what do you do to work on a problem that crops up(assuming you have such, that is another question though).

Ron,

OOPS!! Good thing I didn't show up a month early! I put in on my calender for February and have been telling everyone that's when I was going. Thanks for correcting me. Jason and I won't get to the ranch until the evening of MARCH 4, so it looks like we will miss seeing you, much as I would like to.

I talked to Rick and Jason today about the trip. They are probably wondering why I sounded so wound up. I thought I was leaving for Texas in 11 days instead of 29 days. Here I have embarrassed my self yet again!    :knothead:

I always thought Apache Draw was a place in Arizona.
