I have an 18" ILF riser coming next week. I plan to shoot 36# long Winex limbs.
Bob said they should gain about 10#. What is the gain in #'s for those of you using a Morrison riser.

I believe it's usually around 1# per inch shorter than 25"
ILF limbs are measured for weight (usually) on a 25" riser, so you should gain 7# (43#)

Bob's riser has a different limb angle then the standard. As a result the limbs end up being heavier then marked.
I have two of them here that belong to Rusty that we use to test limbs. These are both +8#.

If your draw is 28" you probably would not get the 10# unless, as stated, his limb angles are different. My guess is about an 8# gain unless you have a longer draw.

I'm not sure there is a standard on shorter risers, Our 16 " has 17 degree angle and does gain between 8-10 pounds over what is marked on the limbs, Depending on the whos limbs are used.
We have changed the angle on our diffent length riser to keep poundage close to the same with what is marked on limbs used. Rusty said he was going to give both 2007 risers away.

Bob,
No standard on the risers that's for sure. Heck I've measured a bunch of them over the last 6 months and they are all different. The limbs have a standard kind of and are marked a given weight. Your riser loads the limb a little more then they are measured for and as a result more weight and better performance in my opinion.
I talked him into letting me have them to test limbs for a few months. Don't think he's found a new owner for them.

Mike,
The length of the riser makes a big difference on preload. Our Mini 14 has more angle, If I didn't change it, 24" would be the max. draw. When you reach 3+# per inch stop, your passed the max draw length. We just did a riser for a guy with a 33" draw on our 20" riser I changed the limb pad angle to the 16" riser. That made the poundage around #7 different than marked changing the load to longer length. This stuff is just toooo fun playing with.

Sorry Rusty
But I did have a guy e-mail me and said he thought he was getting a free riser and I told him I would upgrade it for free also
.
We have made a few improvement in the last 3 years on our risers and limbs and so have others, so it's all good.I have some of the Sky recurves from Jim, real good limb. I look forward to trying Mikes new Longbow limbs, maybe one of these days I won't have to make limbs at all

Keith,
if you are still drawing 29", you should at least net 10#, I haven't shot the 18", but have a 16". But anything from Bob is GOLDEN! Enjoy and good to hear from you, as always!
