bear super grizzly with fascor
« on: January 28, 2010, 09:48:00 AM »
I have this bow in great condition I woud say an eight out of ten. Anyway, I was wondering what the heck fascor was. Also there is a sticker on the limb and I don't know if it supposed to be there. Any help will help. :-) serial number is kd16103.

DvsHunter

I have always been under the impression that its a impregnated maple laminate.  Heck it could be the blue or red stripe the 70's bows have.  At the time I think it was considered a high tech performance increaser much like carbon is being considered these days.  Does it work?  Did it sweep all of its competitors off the Archery landscape?  Not sure,  But the 70's bear bows are in my opinion the height of the bear lineup.  After that the company's quality slid.  Enjoy your bow.

The sticker is part of the bear decals.

thanks for the info. Is this bow valuable? I mean not like 1000 or anything, I mean should I hunt with it and risk scratches, or should I put it up and shoot a different one?

Just shoot it     That is what it was made for, you will not get rich by hanging on to it for an investment.

Consider yourself lucky to have one in such nice shape.......shoot it and enjoy it!!!

David, if it needs a new string you should come out to th United Bowhunters of Mo. gathering Feb.6th. There will be a lot of trad guys and vendors there. It is in Jeff City at the Truman hotel.

It's not anymore valuable than any Bear Grizzly.
I'm not sure anyone knows what Fascor is...it doesn't look like impregnated maple, and it doesn't look like S/A.

Maybe it was simply named after the janitor,
L. Clifford Fascor, Jr., in honor of his hard-headed, yet flexible tenacity.
