AdamH,

My brother has a Firefly FX that is 62" and only 41# @ 28". He is just getting into traditional archery and this bow is absolutely unbelievable, with this light of a draw weight. I have shot it a couple of times out at the club, and it is good to my 29.5 inch draw. Smooth drawing, no hand shock at all, and shoots where you are looking.

Someday, there will be one of these bows hanging on my rack. They are sweet.............

FX is deluxe and FS is standard.  The standard bows are gray or brown Actionwood with black or brown fiberglass. The limb core is Actionboo. The limb formula is the same for the standard and the deluxe model. The deluxe model is available in Dymondwood riser or the exotic woods and the veneers under the clear glass. Adding riser accents to any riser wood makes the bow a deluxe model. A solid block of Dymondwood is considered a deluxe model because of the extra cost of the Dymondwood even though it does not have accents.

I have a 60" and draw to 29 1/4".  I can draw it to 30" with not problem and no stacking.  It is a very nice bow.

I got one of Jim's FX takedowns last spring.  64" 50# @28, I draw 29.5".  I couldn't believe how "custom" this bow could be for the price I paid.  Super smooth and whisper quiet.  It became my go to bow the day it arrived.  I can't speak for shorter bows, but my 64 incher doesn't even think of stacking at my draw and I wouldn't hesitate to go down to 62".  Give Jim a call he'll shoot ya straight.

Jim will tell you 62" for over 29" draw, but a 60 is great at that draw.  I am waiting on a new one now.  Not sure yet, but will probably try a 62".

With a 29.5 draw like mine you can shoot a 60", but you'd be better off with the 62". I think Jim's 62" and 64" bows are the smoothest bows of any I've shot. I've own 60" and 62"..

Give Jim or Tim (at braveheart) a call.

You'd be fine with a 60", but I'd suggest the 62" which is an absolute wonder.  Jim's 62" bow can be drawn a bonafide 32" without any stack.

I have a 62" Firefly and draw 29 1/2 without any stack, super quiet and fast. The more I shoot the bow the more I like it. My son has a bow (Different mfg) that is a few # heavier but feels like 10#s.
These things are smooth.

I have two 58" FF's and they are just like everyone has said SWEET!!

Very smooth and a real joy to shoot!  I draw a little over 28" and they are fine.

I have seen Jim's bow building abilities progress since he and I helped each other with building our first takedown recurves to many years ago.  His bows today are wonderful and a real bargain.  I had him make me a carbon limb prototype. 62" 55# @ 28".  It is a sweet shooter.
