I am sure there are a lot of self bows out there to rival the glass bows!

I have many longbows. The longbow I keep going back to is a used 21st Century that I bought at a tag sale for $75.00.  The bow shoots where I look and just "fits".

Of the longbows that I have shot so far, I'm the most consistent with my Kanati. Can't seem to miss with it!

Depends on the shooter. What shoots good for 1 person may not for another.

From 5 feet my longbow hits the bulls eye everytime. Do I need to back up some?

In my opinion accuracy is in the hands of the shooter. I am just as accurate with my fox as I was with my roy hall and my a and h acs.  Once I am shooting arrows matched to the bow one bow is as accurate as the other!

Ain't the club but the clubee. Too many came to me for golf lessons with $1000 clubs & $5 swings. A satisfied mind builds confidence however. "Want to" will find a way.

It's the shooter and the tuning poundage and length...then just time to get used to it.

Now you will find ones that truely don't suit your hand, length - poundage whatever or something about it (that's why I am trying lots of different ones, but when you find the one...and I mean the one that is an extension of you...you will shoot it effortlessly and accurately...period

I had a saxon mogoose that shot pretty well.I bought a saxon american with exactly the same specs and it did not shoot as well for me.I thought that the bow was cheaper because of the materials used. Now I use a preditor recurve.I have 2 of them with the same specs.Same grade of bow.One of them is my favorite as I can shoot it better than the other. So maybe you should try several of the same make before drawing a conclusion on the brand.
