DAS, Dalla, ILF?

Could anyone clarify all this new terminology?  Are DAS and Dalla the same thing?  Do they or don't they use ILF limbs?

I'll clear it up for you, DAS (David A. Sosa) Made a bow for 3 Rivers called the Dalaa. It uses a modified ILF forward fitting, (DAS limb fitting) You can remove this forward fitting and install the ILF type of fitting if you like...

I'll add a little more, there is a difference between a "DAS" and a Dalaa.  David originally made custom risers and sold them as "DAS", with different designations. One designation was the DAS Master Hunter Gen I/III believe less than 600 made.  Now Three Rivers sells a version of the master that I believe is mass produced and is called the Dalaa.  I would'nt say there is no difference because you could get a Dalaa pretty much any day of the week but a DAS mater hunter is hard to come by.  When these original DAS go up on the internet they usually sell in a heartbeat, and sell for atleast original price or more.  Maybe Mr Carlson will chime in, he's one of our resident experts.  He hooked on them sporting his around the Muzzy.  After he insisted I shoot his wifes bow I was hooked and placed an order as soon as I got home.

Mamba is on the right line. There were 100 DAS Master Hunter Gen I risers built, and about 300
Gen II risers. I'm pretty sure they were made with a higher grade of aluminum and a harder anodize finish than the current Dalaas. That being said, there is nothing wrong with the new Dalaa, they are incredible shooting bows.

I have a DAS Master Hunter, 64# at 29in. I ordered the bow in 2007. For what is it worth, 3Rivers advised me the limbs are not interchangable.

The DAS/Dalaa risers with the DAS connection system is the only ILF platform I will use. Most secure connection with the greatest adjustment for tiller and poundage. The best hunting combo I have found.

All DAS/Dalaa take ILF limbs.  There are two different limbs fixtures though.  DAS connection sleeve and the ILF limb fixture.  The 17" notably come with DAS connection and the 21" can be purchased with your choice.

to change an ILF limb to DAS sleeve (the DAS connection has a screw attachment) the ILF limb fixture screw is removed and the fixture pushed out of the limb.  the DAS sleeve is now pushed into the hole.  you are good to go.

The DAS and the Dalaa use the exact same limb either the ilf fixture for the DAS Dalaa ilf or the DAS sleeve for the DAS connection.

You're good to go, except in some cases, should you buy limbs from other manufacturers, the ends of the limbs butts may have to be ground off to keep the limbs from rubbing on the riser. That will not apply to the 19" ILF Dalaa.

Unless 3Rivers has radically changed the design since I bought mine You will have no problem changing limbs.

The design is the same.  Some limbs, from some manufacturers will need the limb butts ground to fit the DAS riser.  I've had to do it to about five sets of limbs.  David Sosa was very helpful and explained to me how it needed to be done. The information is in the orginal DAS manuals.

The same thing has to be done on occassion for limbs to accommodate the GameMaster and Dorado risers. It's easy to do and does not create a problem.  I think folks need to know that it may be needed.

I spoke with 3Rivers when I was on leave in December 2009. I was going to buy a set of limbs for my 14 year old son. He cannot handle the 64# limbs. They told me there were not the same, I would have to buy one of their risers for interchangable limbs.

Sorry to report, the individual you talked with was misinformed.  All Dalaa limbs will fit the DAS Master riser so long as the limbs have the DAS fitting.  

All ILF limbs with fit your DAS Master, provided the ILF fittings are replaced with DAS fittings, and is some cases the limb butts may have to be ground.
