Who makes quivers out of pelts?
« on: February 15, 2010, 12:30:00 AM »
I called in and shot my first Coyote. I'd like to make a quiver out of its pelt. Do you know of anyone that does that?

I've done a few and have the hides for few more.  What kind of quiver are you thinking about?

I've done one out of a yote and one from a silver fox. used rawhide as a form and stretched the hide around it. Put a wooden plug in the bottom of the rawhide and added a strap.
It is a world with dew still on it, more touched by wonder and possiblitly than any I have since known.

This is one I made for a friend last year. The face forms the flap for a detachable possibles bag.

I was thinking of style of quiver like Rons Wolverine. Man, all those quivers look nice.

Chris,  I'll tell you what, I've shot some really cool looking possums.

The Wolverine quiver is one of my favorites. The arrows set deep in the quiver but are still very accessible. The leather its self is thin so it's lined with deerskin.
