Trying carbons for the first time....

I'm getting ready to try carbons for the first time and would like to run this by ya'll before I order them up.

I'm shooting an OL Adcock non-acs longbow, 68" long and 60# at 30".  I'm pulling it 31", so I'm figuring it's probably around 63-64#.

I'd like to shoot around a 640-650 grain arrow.  I'm thinking of going with the Arrow Dynamics Hammerheads, Abowyer Wapiti broadheads, 4" x 4 fletchings, and cap wraps.

I'm hoping these will be a great all around arrow for me.  Aside from the small game and stumping, I'll primarily be after hogs and whitetail, but I'm hoping to go after elk this fall.

If I use a 75 grain adapter, I'm guessing I'll end up with a around 620 grains before adding the fletching and any inserts, so that should be right where I want.

I'm assuming I'll need to install some inserts for the nocks and heads.  Do the inserts come with the shafts, do I need to order them separately?  I just want to make sure I order everything I need the first time.

Aluminum inserts come with the AD shafts,you shouldn't have any problem getting that weight with the AD Hammerheads.I shoot an AD Trad with 225 gr. point(100 gr adpater with 125 gr. point)and they weigh around 625 grs.,Hammerheads have alittle higher GPI,great flying arrow.I changed the nock setup on mine,I used ACC 3-28 uni-bushing and then used Easton large groove G-nocks.I feel it helps strengthen the nock end and the large groove G-nocks fit my string great,a 12 strand D97 with .024 Halo serving.

A full length Hammerhead will weigh in at around 390 grns.   This is bare shaft wt with no insert.
You will have no problem getting to your wt.
