Arrow Length 1/4" or more

This is just a poll. I'm playing w/stu's program and looking for a good/close arrow set up and playing w/point weight got me thinking. I have always had a arrow on the long side, This gave more weight and spined closer to the bow.

Now I know carbon arrows will be longer due to spine, So I guess this is more for the woodies & Alumun shooters.

I have always spined my woodies and aluminums out so I would be 1" longer than my draw.  This gave me plenty of clearence for a broadhead.

What Tim said. Always done it for safety's sake since I read about it in Fred Bears The Archer's Bible. Also the same reason I don't walk with a broadhead tipped arrow nocked on the string.

When I shot strictly wood I would try to get my arrows about an inch past my draw.There are a lot more spines avalible with wood and aluminum.With carbons I let my arrow tuning dictate their final length.

I know it doesn't really matter what length the arrow is but 1in is enough clearance for safety.  For those who are frustrated with tuning carbons and leave them several inches longer than their draw, you just have to add more weight to the front.  No problem with that because it gives you more foc.  If the arrow ends up to heavy go to one size spine lower, cut the arrow the same length, and add point weight.  I think gold tips are 15-35, 35-55, 55-75, and 75-95 so you shouldn't have a problem finding the correct arrow weight.

I usually make my arrows 1" longer. In order to have a heavier arrow I am at 1.5" longer.

I voted 1" but that is just a goal. Tunning will end telling me what it will end up being. I will not go shorter than 3/4". I have a bad habit of pulling past a settling in on my anchor.

I can end up any where between 3/4" to 2" but try for 1"

I leave mine at 1-1 1/2 inch. I have some GT that I have at 2" that is where they shoot best.

I usually end up with 2" more or less, depending on how well they BS.

With my carbons beman classic usually about half a inch due to this is where they tune good.

I have always left my cedars 3" or 4" longer. The reason if I break the point off I can still use them for small game arrows. I never really thought of it adding more weight,effecting the spine, or anything like that.
