Wood spine, #50@28

I am shooting a Bob Lee Hunter #50 @ 28.  I draw 28".  It has a FF string. 60" bow.  Currently I am shooting 29" 2018 with about 190 up front.  I would like to try wood arrows with 145gr. heads.  They would be 29" long also.  I was gonna try 55/60's.  Does this sound about right?  Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have.

Right on Sal. But 75# may work also. Start with going up one spine group from the draw=55# then add the others=75# do not know why just cause it is a Bob Lee you add 5#, if you take that away then 70# spine would be correct. So 70/75 may be the ticket.

I'd go 60-65#, though 65-70# would probably also work because most centershot recurves will handle a wide range of woodies, particularly overspined. You're not drawing more than 28. 5# for it being a Bob Lee?

HAHAHA. I knew others would ask about the 5# for Bob lee.

That means for a high end bow not a self bow... at the time I was typing it that 5# for being a Bob Lee popped in My head... Plus I didn't know the Bob lee hunter was a recurve bow so that is also why I added the 5#

I never shoot anything over 55-60 spine out of my 50-55# recurves with Fast Flight. I draw 29" and shoot 29 1/2" arrows  I think some of the spine weights suggested are on the high side.  They certainly would be for my bows. The nice thing about recurves is that spine is not usually real critical and they can normally handle a wide range....Dave

I shoot 60-65 , cut to 29 with 145 point out of the 50 lb longbows/recurves Ive had and they were just about right on each one I tried them on . Ill be shooting them on my 50 lb Mohawks when they come in .

I'd go with a 65/70.

I believe all suggestions to this point have been right on the money. I prefer a higher FOC so keep using my 65-75's with more weight up front than has been mentioned. One nice thing about Bows'n'Arrows is that you really can experiment and find what is comfortable and accurate for your given situation.
All of my bows are between 45-54#@28. Recurves, Longbows and Selfbow.
My arrows consist of 60-65, 70-75 woodies,
65-85 bamboo,(very forgiving) and carbons, CX150, GT 3355 & 5575. All arrows between 29.5 and 31.5"
I do some trimming and change point weight until I'm satisfied with the results.
I will admit that I don't shoot 1" groups but don't believe the shaft is at fault.
My target bag has holes all over it but the center for a 3" circumference is wasted.

The 2018 spines around 70#. If you are going to drop point weight, you need a weaker shaft to compensate, all else being equal.

I would start with 60-65.

I would go for the 55-60 or the 60-65. You are only drawing 28". The 145 point doesn't necessarily add a spine range up. Is the bow centershot?
Your personal form can allow you to shoot a different range also, especially if you have a good release.
