Mock scrapes
« on: February 23, 2010, 09:54:00 AM »
Anybody play around with mockscrapes??I start putting them out in the spring.I have a spot that I put out a couple every year.Does not seem to bother the deer scentwise. Ifreshen them up every couple weeks. They do not work all the time, but when they do it is cool.It always attracts some kind of action.I have had fox and yotes check them out.Always have one scrape in shooting range. Can you tell I have the winterblues?????

Here is a thread on human urine and mock scrapes.
If you do a search on "mock scrapes" in powWow I think there are about 14 more treads on the topic.

I used to use them in the past with varied results.  I used to use those golf tee's that had a little sponge on them, and put some doe urine on it. They'd hit it at night for sure, as I'd see it was all tore up. I don;t think I've done it in about 10 years.

I put them out most now for the enjoyment of the animal hits and sightings.

I don't make any mock scrapes. There seems to be enough real scrapes around the places I hunt. I usually piss on them, seems to keep the interest aroused in the area. I don't really hunt on scrapes much any more. Deer are always looking for some thing to be around when they come into a scrape.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
