Putting Skins on a Recurve...What About the Middle??
« on: February 28, 2010, 01:43:00 PM »
Hey all,

When you put snake skins on a recurve what do you do in the middle of the riser where the skins meet?  How do you make that look good if your bow doesn't have a grip on it?  I have a 71 Grizzly that I am thinking about putting skins on and am wondering how you make it look good in the center if you don't have a grip?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Just over lap them slightly and cut thru both layers with a really sharp razor.  Then take the little flap out from under and the extra piece that's over.  Join the two cut edges, should be a perfect union of the two ends.....

Pattern may not match perfect, but it will still look good
