front loading carbons question

Looking for some feedback on front loading carbons. I have some Easton axis 600's coming which I will be shooting out of a 48 pound lb cut 3/16 past center @ 29 inches (arrow will be 29.25 inches long. I mainly will be shooting these at 3d's so not too concerned about weight, however I love the way these 48#'s limbs shoot and would like to chase turkeys with them. My concern is the over all weight of the finished arrow.  I am looking to get close to 480grs which would require me to go to a 225 grain head. Is this too much weight upfront which would cause them to show weak?

I think you will be extremely weak with such a heavy head. In fact, you may be weak with a light head.

If you are worried about weight, get the wood grained carbons, they are higher in weight than most black/partial camo

I don't front load my carbons to increase their weight.I front load carbons when I'm tuning them,I'll start with the front end weight I want and trim and tune from there.But the 600's due sound like they may be alittle weak with that front end weight and your bow.

I think a 600 will be a little weak with that up front,but ok with standard inserts and 125g points .

From my own 45lber I shoot Gold tips 3555 cut to 29.5 with 100g brass inserts and 125 points.

This give me axactly 480g total arrow wheight.

Just use what you use for 3D. Even if not 10 grains per pound they'll kill turkeys. Accuracy kills!

lest we forget, it's shot placement and good flying arrows with sharp bh's that matters.

Yea I think at your draw length those would be a little weak for ya with the 225gr tip weight, but I am sure you could setup the 500's to shoot just fine with that same tip weight, but you will be around the 540's in grn weight.  I shoot my 500's at 28in with 255grs tip weight off my BW 54and 56# bows at 27in and they are darts and kill turkeys just fine.
