An apology...sort of!!!!!
« on: March 04, 2010, 08:05:00 AM »
Here in NH we had a severe wind storm last Thurs. I have been without power since that evening until last night, March 3....seven  nights without power!  I have received emails and PMs from a number of you and I just wanted to let you all know that I am working on getting back to you all. It has been a very difficult but interesting week..sort of like living in "modern primitive" times. Fortunately we have a gas stove and a gas fireplace so we were able to stay warm. Our pond supplied water for the toilets and a friend lent us a generator so we had limited power to keep our freezers going. With the power lines down we had no internet access, as well. Some have asked about more info on the Maine bear hunt with Hunters Point Guide Service. You all should get a response from me by the weekend.
The best things in life....aren't things!

I would imagine that kind of makes you appreciate all the little conveniences that we take for granted these days.  Glad you are back on the grid.

I feel for you and all the others that have been or going through this ordeal.

Been there and done that myself and I know its not as much fun being "modern primitive" as it sounds.

I'm grateful to know you survived it without any loss of life or limbs. Except tree limbs, which I'm sure you have more than enough of.(I did) I still have spots on my place that need cleaning up.

I'm glad you're back up and running.

God bless,Mudd

Geez, Bill, haven't you ever lived in a wall tent?
So don't wait until you retire to go hunting and fishing.  Don't even wait for your annual vacation.  Go at every opportunity.  Things that appear urgent at the moment may, in the long run, turn out to be far less so.
