i was in the bowshop yesterday shooting some.in walks this fella with a big'ol 42" axle hoyt dual cam...all good...he starts shooting it and i looked at him,he was shooting fingers with no sight,as i watched him shoot he really looked like he was struggling and not having even the least amount of fun.so i says to him..hey buddy, why the heck dont you just shoot trad if you are shootin no sight and fingers.before he can even answer me poooffff..my longbow and arrows are in his hands.i said..go ahead...shoot er a bit, tell me what ya think, dont worry about hitting a spot yet just get the feel for it.took me thirty minutes to get my bow back from him.he had a 68" internature l/b at home in a sock that he'd traded for but had never even tried to shoot. so we met at the shop again today and got him all set up with some correct arrows and i even gave him some lessons on how to shoot trad.....he's hooked   :readit:  says he will never shoot wheels again..wooohooo....THIS IS WHY I SHOOT TRAD ARCHERY.  :clapper:    :clapper:

I've been trying to get my son inlaw away from his wheels. I gave him a recurve, arrows but he hasn't touched them. So my next ploy is to start on my 2yr. old grandaughter,so I made her a little longbow, arrows and quiver. I preech the Tradway to anybody who will listen. Scott

I just got a buddy of mine hooked. One day, after we climbed down out of our stands, we did a little stump shooting. He was impressed at the accuracy of the bow.  He also noticed that, even though I'm almost 10 years older then him, and about 70 lbs heavier, I was moving through the woods much faster and easier than he was.  He realized that he was bogged down by alota stuff that he didn't really need....including a compound!  I sold him my bow, and I bought another.  He shoots it very well for just starting out.
He's really getting into it, and he has a lot more fun shooting!

I finally got my ex brother in law to get him a longbow about 8 months ago and he loves to shoot it and he shoots it very well but I cant get him to take it hunting. I dont know if it is a confidence issue or if he just hasnt learned to apreciate the hunt more than killin stuff but Im still harassing him maybe one of these days......
