Morrison Riser?

Any long draw (30") shooters shoot a mini 14 ILF riser? How are they cut centershot(3/16 etc)? Mass weight, how do they feel? What length bow with med. or long limbs?

Oooooh, I wouldn't.......

I draw 30" m'self. Even with long limbs, a mini 14 ILF will only give you a 58" bow. It'll snap like kindling. After asuccession of bumps on the head & limb-tips in the nuts I figured that a 62" bow is as short as I can safely go. That'd be a 18" riser with long limbs.

I'd say your good to go I shot a mini 14 with ilf shorts at my 28 inch DL

On Bob's site it says Long limbs for a 58" bow good to 30". That's why I'm looking for input.

On Bob's site it says Long limbs for a 58" bow good to 30". That's why I'm looking for input.Your description does paint a funny but painful picture.     [/b]

I just went and checked his charts with specs. and recommended draw lengths.

I have a Mini 14 with D limbs, that makes a 58" bow there are also E and F limbs will make 60&62" lenght bows, respectively.

According to Bob's charts, all three limb lenghts [D,E,&F] will handle draw lenghts of 30" on the Mini 14 riser.

If you need a bow that will go real long....[33"]
Perhaps you should check out the 64" Habu's, Chris says they are good clear out to 33".

I have a Death Adder and there is another in the Classifieds....mine is 64", 57# @ 27 1/2" with prarie rattler skins....great condition, and very pretty... I do Like Morrison's and am always looking to trade

With the long limb and preload adjusted 3 to 4 turns out will work just fine. Tighten limbs down and it changes things, on the mini 14 (Actually a 13" ILF) even in our new metal riser I know this riser will never break (metal), the limbs are what will not take that kind of stress at longer draw lengths. Back off the preload....

Get a good bow scale then you can adjust your limbs to avoid preload and also get the most out of them.  For example if you draw 28". You want to set your bow up to where it gains 3 lbs from the 28-29" draw and only 2" the 27-28.

I believe bowyers base there bow length suggestions on stacking.  "My bow gains 2 lbs from 29 to 30 inches so you can shoot my 58 inch bow."  String angle is much more important.  The string angle on a 58 inch bow puts more string on your fingers and you'll never shoot it as accurately as a 64 plus inch bow.

Viper has a picture of it in his book (page 10) and G Fred mentions it in the current issue of TBM.

I would think that a mini 14" riser 58" bow would be as accurate as a 16" 60" bow since they would have essentially the same length working limb so no finger pinch difference.   I don't believe the longer the bow the more accurate.   I believe the bow that fits you the best is the most accurate.
