...Yes the sharpness is in the valley's of the knap. With a little pressure it cuts with ease. I had a guy once at a show pick up one of my flint knives and say "ITS NOT SHARP AT ALL" as he ran it along his palm..Instantly I said be careful. Well...Mr "know it all" tried it again..then ..headed off to the DR. to get stiches...Hmmmm!

With stone heads ...I shoot at 20 or less yards. I'll put up my stone tipped arrow up  to any steel head arrow ...anyday.

There not for everyone to shoot. But in the hands of someone that understands them ..there most deadly !!! remember before modern bowhunting..Man survived with full bellies for thousands of years !!! They used stone !!!

FYI, obsidian when flaked produces an edge 20X finer that that of a surgical steel scalpel blade. I have cut through THICK boot leather before with a simple flake.

When I was a kid, I used to cut myself on flint flakes all the time, when I peeled off bark from sticks, and such (knives are not allowed in kindergarden, so I had to use stones). Doesn't hurt, so I rarely ever noticed before I saw the blood. I once broke off a flake on which I managed to cut my fingers 5 times, before I decided to throw it away. I still remember this, because I was amazed by the sharpness of that little flake. They can be sharp beyond imagination.
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.
