Starting WOOD nocking point?
« on: March 17, 2010, 03:36:00 PM »
Got a set of Barta arrows from 3Rivers today. I figured they would be a good set to start with. I know the nocking point will be different from my carbons. Where should I start? They are 23/64 with Bohning classic nocks.

Thanks!

The shafts are fatter, so you will likely have to raise it just a bit, maybe 1/16".  Shoot them and let the arrows tell you.

fido,  You'll probably have to move your nocking point up for a thicker diameter shaft.  If I were you try a few of the new arrows with the point where it is now for carbons and watch your arrow flight.  Then adjust accordingly.

I put the arrow on the string and then line up a credit card till the shaft is at a 90 degree angle to the rest and start from that point.
