Anyone Hunted with 7th age @ the Crane TX location
« on: March 21, 2010, 12:51:00 AM »
I'm looking to talk with anyone who has hunted with Curtis (7th Age) in tha past couple of months at the Crane Texas location. I would like to talk with you about things to bring and such.
PM me with your # and I'll call you when it's good for you. I can also give you my # if you like. I'm heading down there in a couple weeks and have a few questions......

Thanks

Crane is almost to Juarez....and close to NM. If you live in the Cali desert its the same out there as far as gear goes. Camos should be a mix of sandy browns and greens. I'd wear a calf height boot in case you upset 'ol no shoulders. Weather will be cool in the mornings and evenings, and by 11AM it'll be warm so bring some water while you hunt. It gets windy and duty out West too. I've not been to hunt with Curtis so I can't comment on the facilities.....but I have gone after the pigs in that area. I hope this is useful info and have a great trip.

Mark, I hunted out there with Curtis a couple of years ago. You will need sleeping gear, terrain is sandy with lots of Mesquite and scrub oak. No tall trees except near houses or water holes. Camo is light browns and greens. He has pit style blinds near water holes and at leat one on a windmill. Also spot and stalk some. Lots of pigs and javies, although season is not open on javies now. Camp is only tents, or under the open building. Could be warm or cold so bring some gear for both, but when you get here it should be mostly warm with maybe chilly at night. Hope this helps. I would also recomend snake boots cause they could be out by then.

Curtis has an outdoor shower.  Will need a bag chair, some good flashlights.   Town is not far away.  Also would not hurt to have a shovel and nippers for building a pit blind.

Give me a call if you need to know more.
