Beman 340 MFX Classics

Has anyone tried these? How do they compare to the traditional only? I have a 64" Toelke Whip that's 54# @ 28. I draw right at 30". I figure I am pulling right about 60#. I contacted 3rivers about the MFX's and it was suggested that I go with the 340's and use the 100gr inserts in the front. I have been shooting the ICS classics in a 400 spine. They shoot well with 145gr tips but they do get a little irratic with 200gr tips.
Do you think the 340's will work? I have shot several stiffer spined arrows out of this bow(2219's with 200 gr tips) and they seem to do well. It seems like its pretty forgiving as far as shooting stiffer arrows.
Just want to see what ya'll think before I buy any.
thanks
Dave

They should tune up ok. Watch the arrows for windage as the microdiameter arrows can be a bit twitchy from trad bows... Longbows fair better than recurves in my experience.

With 100 gr inserts, your long draw length and longer arrows the 340's should tune OK. If your draw length and arrows were shorter, you would be fine with the 400's. I have had good luck with the MFX Classics.

My setup: Recurve 59#@31" draw lenght, beman 340MFX classic 340, full lenght, 50 grain insert,
125 grain point.
That gives me a complete arrow weight of 550grain
and a superb arrow flight.
So I guess it should work for you too.

I use both the mfx classic 400 and 340 out of my RER vortex longbow. Around 60# @ 29.5" and using 30" arrows with 75 grain brass inserts. The 400's fly best with no more than 135 grain tips. I use 145-200 grains tips with the 340's with no issues. I think that, with your longer draw length and arrows, the 340's would be best.

53# MOAB, 340mfx cut to 29 1/2 75 grain insert, 250 grain head. Bare shafted them and every so often they showed stiff, but just a little. Fletched them and they fly good.

Thanks guys for the info. It seems like the 340's would be the best choice according to all the responses. I think I will try some of these and see how they work. I might try some of the traditional only arrows with the pdp weights in the future but for now I think I will try the MFX's. I guess you can never have too many arrows.
