Thanks guys, as someone said about "going thru the whole journey together"...that was the plan. I asked Terry if he'd let me mount his so they would be re-created at the same time.

We wanted pix of then both alive and mounted "together"....Just wish Don had decided to mount his buck...then there would have been three...

To answer a couple questions....

Dirtybird- believe it or not, I've never mounted one of my own turkeys.

Izzy- The form is just as ordered, just a neat pose.

Danny Rowen- You bet bud!

My buck had as many, or more scars on his cape as ever seen on a buck. His nose pad was even deformed a bit from a scar... and in the earlier pix you can see his shoulder area is tore right up. So many others are somewhat hidden by hair...he was a battler no doubt!

But check out the damage to his rack...

A big "chunk" out of his non-typical side, I often wonder what that could have been...

It's amazing the amount of cactus thorns Terry's buck had in his hide!

I mean all bucks I've ever done from TX have thorns embedded in their skins. Probably 90% of them you don't see till you see the inside of the skin. Mine had what I would call a "normal amount", a lot.

But Terry's buck must have had an affinity for the prickly pears, I mean just loaded, inside and out!  Like twice as many as I've ever seen!

As a matter fact, several on the hair side made it thru the tanning and mounting process and will be in the finished product....pretty cool!
