More Broadhead , arrows and 3" feather testing.
« on: March 22, 2010, 10:02:00 PM »
Well Eric 101 and I have been at it again. He called me up, then came over. We had been experimenting with our hunting setups and BH's with 3" shield feathers he had cut and fletched, shot them in a cross wind, great flight out to 35 yds, good grouping. Today we shot same shaft and 3" feathers w Ace Standard BH's, with steel inserts for 200 grains up front. If anything flew better, if possible. Increase penetration over the 150gr. setup as expected, and man were our bows quieter, as they should be. I sounded like someone was standing by the target and whacking it with a stick, no bow noise period!!I believe we are about done tinkering, turkey season opens soon here, we are gonna try to make them gobblers live  hard, had two gobbling Friday morning in my  back field, 200yds from the back door!
