I must have been bad!
« on: March 24, 2010, 01:09:00 PM »
"Penance"- An act of self-abasement, mortification,or devotion performed to show sorrow or repentance for sin.

It feels like this might be where I find myself this morning. I know I've lost a few arrows lately, torn up a few more. Lost tips, broken off tips, torn off feathers but to have to resort to this, to stoop down to this level.  AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!

Have I ever told anyone? I HATE building arrows!!!

This is painful to look at but here it is!

My act of penance:

I will be trying to be better at caring for my arrows....I promise!!

God bless,Mudd

PS: I started this dozen last night and as you can see I have 3 refleteched but still have to put in the inserts.

Perhaps a true penance would be to start with ramin or cane shafts in the raw and have to start from scratch.  I am a lot more careful with my wood arrows than I am with my carbons.  I have way more time invested in them.  But less money.

Penance is good for the soul.
P.S. I love working on arrows.  I am always in the process of making another dozen or two.  Drives my wife nuts.  She keeps asking how many arrows do you need?

Clay, I think if I had to start from scratch I'd have to call it torture instead of penance...lol

I wanted to provide proof that I actually am trying to build an arrow. It's my defense mechanism at work.

Stick to being a Habadasher and buy arrows , after all your name is "Mudd"  Just kidding , I enjoy making arrows just not very good at it . But no matter what they look like no animal has complained yet ,   Fred

I'm with you Mudd!  Making arrows to me is like onion rings.. the first one is good!  The second one, only ok at best.. by the 3rd I'm done.. unfortunatly, there's 9 more to go with arrows.. I just stop eating the onion rings.  ;)
