We will no longer be producing the "A" or the super short limbs in Longbow or Recurve.

Thanks for the "Heads Up" Bob... will you still be using the A,B,C... method to describe your limbs? Or, are we going to have to learn a new system?

The A limbs were originally for short draw,26 or less. But it seem longer draw think there going to get more out of the limbs by over stressing them, and it seems the only way to stop it is to quit making them.
Gene, they are going to be Short (B), Medium(C), Long(D), Xlong (E), XXlong (F). Risers will still be A,B,C. ILF riser 13",15",17",19".

Bob,
There always has to be someone who things he is smarter that the bowyer! Sorry you have had to deal with those people, Bob. I love all the limbs you built for me, but a "C" is as short as I could ever use, so discontinuing the "A" limbs won't affect me. Too bad for the shorter guys though. I know some people like Cody Dixon who love those short limbs.

I typed, "There always has to be someone who things he is smarter that the bowyer!" I meant to type, "There always has to be someone who thinks he is smarter than the bowyer!" My fingers are not behaving.

That really stinks. I've been trying to save for a 52" Cheyenne and now I'm not going to be able to get one. My draw is only 25" and I've been shooting a 48" bow for years. I know that you have to do what you have to do but it's just a shame that we have to suffer because of a few idiots. Sorry, I am genuinely upset.

Thanks for the clairifacation Bob.... I'm a "C" "D" kind of guy, so won't effect me, but I'm feeling bad for the guys with shorter draw lenghts...
I thought for a minute that amar911 was refering to me as "trying to be Smarter than the bowyer"

Bob,
What about the A limbs listed on your websight? I called you the other day about the ILF riser. I have a 25.5-26" draw and would love some carbon foam A limbs of yours for my A riser. Would like to get some already made if possible.
Thanks,
Dan

OH man, this S***S! I just got a "A" ILF riser w/ "B" limbs(54" bow) and was wanting to get some limbs to make it 52". This 54" is the longest bow I have owned in 25 years of trad shooting.I have a 26" draw and like short bows, so like I said this S***S!

One more thing about draw length and riser and limb combinations. With more bowyers building ILF risers and limbs, The angle on the limb pads gets real criticalon on shorter risers. Too steep angle and even a long limb becomes unsafe.

OOPS, I accidentally hit "add reply" before I finished the post. Bob and I talked a year and a half ago while we were hunting together about people with long draw lengths who were overdrawing his bows and breaking limbs. One person did it more than once. It is a shame that some folks think the design limits set by the bowyer don't apply to them. Gene is definitely not that kind of guy! He is first class and knows his bows.
I hate it that Bob has needed to resort to discontinuing the A limbs to combat poor judgment on the part of a relatively small group of people, but he is making the right decision. Bob exercises good judgment, which is one reason why he is a top notch bowyer and individual.
