Thanks for all the nice comments on the old videos. I have to admit they were way ahead of their time when you realize they were produced in the early/mid 1980's. I think the reason they were so well received was the fact they were real and true. If we missed.. we missed and if we got 'em.. we got 'em. People could relate to the fact we are just like everyone else out there. Video experts can do things in the editing room to make it look like we never miss.. trust me... we missed a lot! I think we all have likely pulled off some memorable bowhunting shots in our lives. I just happened to have a camera behind me when I did it. Regarding why Gene wasn't in those early productions, he had just written his first couple books and had freely stated "There's a lot of advantages to being selfish". Ha. Basically what he was saying was he didn't want to give up his hunting solitude by having a film crew filming over his shoulder. Frankly, now I know how he felt. That's basically why we don't film each other. We film ourselves so if anyone screws up it's our own fault. When filming oneself if we get the footage... great. If we don't get the footage.. so sorry. Our primary goal is to hunt and make memories, whereas getting it on film is secondary. Anyway, thanks again for the nice positive feedback. Best of luck to all. BW

I had the DVD and lost it in a move a few years ago. A lot of good info on there and the shot on the running deer is timeless.

For the last several years some time around the first day the temp hits 100 here in North TX I watch October Whitetails I and II. Those videos help get me through the long hot TX summer by thinking about those great October days ahead. I watch Primal Dreams year round, it is one of the best videos I’ve ever seen, and think I’ll watch a little of it tonight.       :clapper:

Everybody loves Bowhunting October Whitetails.

It`s difficult to believe it was nearly 25 years ago when I first saw it.

Classics for sure.
