Hickory or Lodge Pole Pine Arrows

I shot them both. The hickories are tough but too heavy for me. I like the lodge pole. They were pretty tough too. Gary

Lodge Pole Pine Shafts.....How Heavy Compared to Cedar or Sitka Spruce? Lighter or Heavier?     Just Asking, didnt aim to HiJack Your Thread. 1,000 Pardons.

The lodgepole pine shafts I've had (70/75#) were mostly in the 480gr range, though I had 3 dz or so that were in the 440gr range.  The hexpine shafts I have now (made from lodgepole pine) are in the 480gr range and are 85/90#.

I haven't found real premium lodgepole pine shafts in a few years, but am real impressed with the hexpine shafts so far.

The last ones that I ordered were from Troy Breeding when he lived in Bama.

Just looking for a heavier shaft than cedar.  The shafts I still have seem to fly well with the big glue on tree sharks.  I'll look into the Surewood shafts along with the hickory.

Interseptor, and those were the last premium chundoo I bought LOL!

The hexpine shafts are nice.  I haven't seen the Surewood shafts, but I like a good doug fir arrow - the tight-grained and dense stuff.
