I seen a SK with a blue lam accent stripe in the riser. Can anyone tell me what years they made them like that?

Morning Star,
The ones your seeking were built in 1975 and 1976. Good luck.

If I could ever figure out how to post a photo on this website I would post a pic of my new to me Old Super Kodiak. It is a 76 model in a premium hunting weight at 65lbs. This bow is down right beautiful, this is one of my dream bows!!

Hi friends, I love Super Kodiaks, IMHO is the most beautiful and enjoyable. Mine is a 72 model bought here from a very good and patient guy. I start a little Bear hunting bows collection, Magnum, Grizzly, Super Kodiak and Hunter.... I'm looking for a Super Magnum now...
Bye from Italy.

I was tutored under Len Disbrow here in Kalispell when I was a lad of about 14. He carried a lot of Bear bows as well as other popular brands of the day(most are long gone now)
There seemed to be a rage going in about 1965-1970 for really short bows. I got to shoot a lot of them at his place. Of all the 'shorties' of those days the Bear Super Magnum was the best performer - and very beautful.
However -compared to a bow that was just a bit longer, the stackup was great and the overall accuracy less than longer models. I had the Magnum for years until it delaminated (it was a 1966 model) and have setteld with my Browning Explorer II (a 1972 model). The Magnum was manageable at 52", but the Explorer is sweet at 56" and has never given me trouble.
I still love the look of those old short bows, but longer is smoother - and I think everyone knows that!
