New Hill,grey limbs ebony riser??
« on: March 29, 2010, 10:58:00 AM »
Hi,I'm ordering a new Hill,I'd like grey limbs but can't decide on riser wood.I'm leaning toward ebony with a grey handle wrap or maybe cocobolo for the riser? I already have a couple of Hills with black and brown glass so I'm looking for a look you don't see much.Any thoughts??

Ebony would look real nice with the gray, IMHO.

I emailed Craig last week and he said he still had some.Thats one reason why I would like a bow with grey glass, kinda like old school.

Picked up some .050 gray glass at Craig's last month. Been wanting to make a grey glassed bow for some time. Also asked Craig if he had anything exotic in the way of leather for a handle wrap.... Guess what I got? Gray Rhino leather! It wasn't cheap, but it'll compliment the gray glass perfectly. Would certainly recommend it.

I agree with Kevin L. I think ebony would look good with grey glass.

I have ebony in the riser of my Redman and it looks great.  It would be my choice with gray glass.

Gray glass, ebony riser and rhino leather sure sounds unique enough to pique my interest. Please share some pics if you go in that direction.

Gray and Zebra wood or gray riser with some purple heart. I have seen both of these combo's.

Rose Oak for the Zebra/Gray  & Wes Wallace for the Gray / Purple Heart.
