Re-limbing a wheelie bow

Saw a post on this a while back and didn't think much about it but a recent acquaintance of mine has some wood riser'd wheelie bows he's thinking about putting recurve limbs on,does anyone have any info on this?Also,I saw a post about re-limbing one piece recurves on here a couple of weeks ago and think it was a member who was doing that,can someone let me know who that was please?THANKS in advance.

Never even thought it as possible to re-limb a wheelie with proper limbs ^^

Should be no problem if you know what the angles are on the limb pads.Instead of making limbs I would find a cheaper bow with simular angles and use them.Some of the Samick limbs can be bought very reasonable.If you are lucky the angles might be something that will work with ilf limbs.

Are you perhaps thinking of a WARF conversion where you glue shims in the limb pockets and use ILF limbs.  It's done all the time and plenty of information on the internet.  Just google WARF.

I have a friend that took the riser of an old wheelie bow and built some long limbs for it. I think it's like 68" long. I know the poundage was way more than I wanted to pull..lol I started to apply pressure to the string enough to make me stop.

He uses it for a bow fishing set-up.

I am having Bull Mountain Archery make me a set of recurve limbs to make a warf bow for the wife to bowfish with.  She is getting 45 lb limbs and he will be making a shim to fix in place over the limb pockets and then screw in the recurve limbs.

I did a number of years ago. I had a Martin Lynx that I shot for about a year then relaized I was missing all the fun so I purchased a set of recurve limbs from Martin and had me a great recurve that is still one of my favorites. Martin made and sold the Lynx in both a wheelie and recurve at the time. I later found a used Lynx recurve and gave it to my brother.

There are several compound risers that  make good recurves when limbs are added to them. I have fixed up about 6 different ones. As a general rule, the limb pad angle needs to be 15 degrees or less. I have bought the economy Samick and greatree limbs, my 4H kids shoot them well! This is called Warfing or Quarfing. Warf is a term coined by Bob Gordon, who reworked several BEar risers to use ILF limbs with improvised fittings and hand tools. Quarfs are risers that Use Quinn limbs, through altering the riser. I have mades som fine shooting bows off these, and the new Martin Jaguar is a compound Riser with Recurve limbs also!
