I got the whole set from 3Rivers for Christmas. Nearly wore them out already. I have a little TV in the room where I work on bow stuff and tie flies. Its what is usually playing while I am in there.
In one portion of my videos, Mr. Bear admits to having bad habits because he taught himself to shoot. He claims himself to be a "Snap Shooter". He goes on to say that the only way he knows how to correct for a short shot, is to pull the bow back farther. This was why he didn't ever shoot a compound.
He shot his Indian Tiger at about 100 yards. The old film really plays up the excitment of the hunt. In a late in life piece of video included in my collection, Mr. Bear admits that he was really trying to shoot past the tiger and spook it closer to him. He hit it and killed it. At least he was honest about it. He went on to say that close shoots are best and more ethical.
He was an interesting fellow. There are several pieces of video from late in his life where he recounts some of the history of Bear Bows and how some of the developments were made. Bows were a side bussiness for quite a while before they really took off.
Like I said, quite a guy. Can't recommend the videos enough.
