Hey, just found out that this guy is pretty famous. The Gamegetter's that I have just modified I bought from his shop. And a friend of mine used to shoot arrows with him. I noticed there is a section here for archery legends. Should he have an entry? Kinda neat that I bought my arrows from him.

I seem to remember he was from Chula Vista, CA. Back in the day with Roy Hoff.

Rube Powell made some fine hunting arrows and was a big advocate of 4" Four fletch. I'm not sure but he might have been inducted into the California Bowhunters Hall of Fame.

I recently picked up a copy of "The Archer's Magazine", April 1956 issue with a picture of Rube on the front and quite a lengthy article about him. Back in the late 1970's I was fortunate enough to have visited his shop on many occasion. Times I will treasure.

Should also note that Rube Powell was the National Champion in 1951-53-55-56 and in 1973 inducted into the Archery Hall of Fame.
