Do you guys get the standard stones or the diamonds? Just curious if it is worth paying extra for the diamonds or are the standards the way to go.
Thanks, Phil

Ron/Jake can answer this if I am wrong, but diamonds are good for removing a lot of material, but you don't get the finish of a regular stone at the end.... I use a XC diamond to get it started and finish with the regular stones.....

Regular for knives anyway unless you let your knives get far too dull before tuning them up.

I bought the standard stones those will get everything scary sharp.I sharpened my bosses pocket knife for him. When I saw him the next day his hand and thumb were all bandaged up.He said he was assessing the edge quality and said there was a pint of blood on the ground before he knew he was bleeding.I had to surpress a smirk,he took 5 stitches.KME Sharpeners are AWSOME
You won't be sorry.

I have both the diamonds & regular stones, I use the regular stones 90% of the time easily. I only use the diamonds to remove lots of steel fast then generally go back to the regular stones.
I can do everything the diamond stone does with the coarse regular stone if I needed too though!
I'd get the regular stones if I were to have to make that decision based on my present experience!

Thanks guys.
Phil, The gang pretty well got it. The diamonds get you from very dull to very sharp faster. The standard stones may take a bit longer but they give you a more polished finished edge. Diamonds can wear out if misused. Give us a call if you have any problems. We are leaving for Wisconsin soon but will be filling orders when we are gone. Thanks again guys.
