B50 Flemish String
«
on:

I built a string for a 64" Bob Lee longbow and after stringing to stretch I noticed that the top loop was slowly sliding off one side. I restrung making sure it was properly strung in the grooves and it did the same thing a coule of times more and I gave up. Anyone had this happen t them and if so what am I doing wrong. I used TJConrads instruction

You may have a slight twist in the limb? String it up a sight down the string and see if if is in the center of the limbs. When you say slowly sliding off one side,is it coming out of the nock groove?

Yes it is coming off the top string groove. have not let it com all the way off but it looks like if I draw the bow it would jump of the groove.
the string I built prior has no problem

Have you had other strings on the bow, aside from the one you built previously? Was the string you previously built the same?

The string that came with the bow was FF. I just built a string for a 56" browning wasp that was given to me and had no problem. I will build a new one soon and see what happens, it is just puzzling to me.

Sabas -
Call me, let's get together with the bow and we'll figure out what's going on.

Thank you Danny, I will do that. Before I went to bed I checked the string and thought it corrected because I had retwisted but then remembered I had reversed the string loops top to bottom and found the bottom loop doing the same thing so it seems like there is a problem in the twist I did
