New Whisperstik-olive ash limbs, but what riser woods?
«

I was going to have JD make me up one of his new 52"er's, but his 62" recurve shoots so good and so quiet, I'm going to have him make me a new 45lb 62"er.
I'm going to have him use some sweet olive ash he has for the limbs.
Anyone have suggestions for a figured riser wood to complement the olive ash? I know all kinds of combo's will look good, but sometimes there's certain combo's that just "pop", like juniper and coco.
Any pics of sweet looking combo's with olive ash limbs?
Thanks.

Olive ash has a brown tint to it, see if Jim has any Ziricote. I think they would really go together well. Maybe even with Bocote accents.
Are you going with the Kajika or the Mojo recurve?

The purtiest bow I ever seen was olive ash limbs with zircote riser. That's what I would do.

My bet would be Ziricote, ebony or cocobolo. Maybe even wenge if it's brown enough

After seeing that and your suggestions, Jim and I emailed back and forth he's going to look for a sweet piece of ziricote for the riser. It'll look sharp.

Olive ash...I'd go with a dark piece of Macassar Ebony!
Nice contrast between the light and dark!

Looks like you've made your mind up already but, Zebra Wood looks good with Olive Ash also. My PL X is Olive Ash/Zebra Wood.
