Hey all,
I recently read a post about how some people use strips of Rabbit fur at the end of their arrows as a TRACER to allow them to follow the flight of their arrows better. I think that would work for me since I have a hard time seeing my arrows in flight no matter what color or style of fletch I use. Before I buy the stuff to try it I wanted to ask a question or 2 about it.
As for the Rabbit fur strips, I searched the web looking for them and found lots of links to fly tying shops and fly fishing shops. They are called ZONKER STRIPS and are 1/8th inch wide. There are also MAGNUM ZONKER STRIPS that are 1/4th inch wide. First, is this the type of rabbit fur I should get, ZONKER STRIPS? Next, what size would work the best, 1/8th or 1/4th inch.
I am also going to use 2 sided tape to attach them since I am not going to learn to tie flies just for this project.
So if you all can tell me what rabbit fur material would be the best to use, I can get off to the races. Also, for those that have and use these "TRACERS" is there a color that shows up better than others?
Any other advice or instructions you all have for me before I start would be welcomed.
Thanks for your time and help.
