Refund or drill riser?
« on: April 18, 2010, 07:58:00 PM »
I shot sooo bad tonight my buddy suggested I ask Rod Jenkins for a refund or call Lee Hoots and see if I could drill the riser for a string tracker or bowfishing reel so I could spend less time looking for my arrows. I even made up some new fur tracers, maybe I should've used the whole darn rabbit! I better apologize to Tony the Tiger from Wisconsin and see if I can send our Compton trophy to him without embarrasing myself on the 3D range   :knothead:

AAHHH,Mike you know we all have those days.Hopefully it wont last any longer then that. Some times when I am strugeling I switch bows, and for some reason it will remove my head from darker places.

Well I guess that post could easily be misinterpreted.Im not telling you to give up on your Hoots bow!Just a temporary change of scenery to recenter yourself. It works for me,maybe it will work for you.I usualy switch to a different grip or riser style to get back inline.

Mike,
You sold me that beautiful RER that wasn't working out for you and I think you swore you'd only shoot Zippers after that.  If you need to send that Hoots back closer to it's maker, I only live maybe 40 miles from his shop.

Bert, you've had some great bows for sale and trade but I made a promise not to buy anything I haven't shot and as poorly as I shot today I'd be embarrassed to pass it on to anyone else. I know it wasn't the bow, I have shot it MUCH better than today.

Bert, I've looked REAL close at thet Toelke you have and I convinced myself the thumbrest wouldn't work for me! Pretty bow. Glad you still consider dealing with me, I always worried after a bow deal that a bow won't work for the next guy and I'll get an even worse rep!
Mike p.s. I got killed on the 3D range again tonight!!

Mike,
No worries, I think that RER finally found a home, haven't seen it listed for a while.  You know how it goes, the search for the perfect bow is a lot of the fun we have, not to mention the good people we get to know.

Owl there was a good article in TBM about short bows and longer bows this last issue. It helped me out even though I new a longer bow shot better. Anyway I got my Hoots recurve a couple weeks after you did and shot it awesome then had a real bad spell, real bad! After reading the article I shot acouple of my 60" recurves for a few days and got my shot back just like Zipper says. Something differant gives you that confidence back especially if its a bow you have shot well before, my case its the longer bows. Took the Hoots turkey hunting last week with all the confidence in the world again and.................. didn't see a bird but took outta few stumps. Good luck and dont force it.
