New bow, what spine arrows?
« on: April 19, 2010, 08:45:00 PM »
I just got a new to me long bow. It is marked 55# at 26" so Im pulling 58-60# at my draw of 27.5". The question I have is, where do I start with arrow selection. My current long bow shoots 29.5" CE 150 with 250 gr. points great. Ive tryed these arrows out of the new bow and they seem to shoot ok but  the consitanly shoot high and they dont group as well as my current setup. I want to continue shooting 250 grains up front, so where do I start? CE 250 or GT 55/75 or any other suggestions?

Not Sure about the CE250.But with the GT 55/75 and 175 grain up front on my recurve 57@28" they fly like darts.Hope this helps.

In carbons I really like the 3 rivers Easton Traditional Only's. Inserts stay in with just hot melt (which can easily be taken out when heated), No issues gluing or taping on fletchings with the arrow wood grain finish. The nocks are fantastic as well and fit most servings just right. I would say you need to go with the 400 spines in any arrow you go with.
