Real nice bow. I've been thinking of getting a one piece recurve and the Mentor is one of the bows on my short list.

Don,congrats for your Mentor.I saw it on the Classified and foud it was agreat deal on a incredible good looking wood.I love the look and the mass on the Macassar and I have not seen one that can compare with your riser yet.
I am a lefty otherwise it could have taken the road toward my rack.

Hi Don,
That's Beautiful Mentor you picked up there!! I agree 100% they certainly are shooters! I bought one from the classifieds here about two years and I don't ever plan on giving this one up. It shoots like no other recurve I own. Extreamly smooth to draw and really sends an arrow out there. Here is a pic.

I'm glad to see the bow went to a home. I wanted to buy it when it went up for sale. It is absolutely gorgeous! I have a Maccasser Ebony Mentor as well, Myrtle veneers though. It is my hunter and best performing bow, a total rocket! Smooth as butter too! I also have another Mentor in Cocobolo and Bacote which is very very beautiful. These bows are the ones I'm keeping as I've thinned the herd a bit. No way am I getting rid of my Wallace bows as I have 2 matching longbows for them. Actually Wes is building a B model riser for an extra set of limbs for me right now. It will make my 60" limbs into a 56" bow. I'm so excited I can barely stand it! It will match my other Cocobolo bow. Wes is the absolute best, world class guy and he builds world class bows!! I wish I wouldn't have been strapped for cash at the time that one was sold or it would have been gone. Enjoy and share some stories with it when they come.

I've never been able to SHOOT one, but in handling/admiring them, they seem very impressive. Nice craftsmanship, and very smooth to draw. Congrats!

Don, that is a good looking bow. Best wishes with it.
Are you going to Baltimore (BBTC) next month, or to Roanoke (STAR) at the beginning of June? If so, I'll bring along my 64" - 50# @ 28" Mentor.... let you try that one.

Hi friend,
congrats for your bow...
From last friday I'm a second (???) owner of one Mentor too, it arrived from a friend in New Jersey , It was crafted on 2004, 62" 44#, Cocobolo/Shedua Red Elm limbs and antler tips and overlay....I'm immediately in love with it....
Bye from Italy
