I just got a 48" TD 55@28 Rocky Mountain That shoots awesome. Does anyone have experience with these bows? Who built them? What brace height is recommended? Are they Fast Flight compatable?

The bow takes a 42" string which suprised me for a 48" bow.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Mike B you are correct,

This was the First Custom trad bow I ever owned. John sent me a bow to shoot, and between ordering it I ended up moving to Montana, I believe his son John also worked with him. If I'm not mistaken John was an engineer for 3M or something.

I drove to Bozeman four hours to pick up my bow, it was extremely nice.  I have since talked to folks, who claimed this Gentleman was ahead of his time in bow building and materials.

John has since retired form bow building, and is making Cowboy hats somewhere in Montana, I'm sure someone from the great state of Montana will chime in.

That is a fantastic find... I'd like to find a mid forty pounder someday.

Nice find Jake

Yes they were. I had a 48" Rocky. It was a great bow. I don't know what your brace height is but it shouldn't be more than 8" inside the grip. That string seems too short. If you can please post pics.

I don't think I'd want to try FF. I've got a 60" 65@28" that I've had about 25 years. Sure would hate to blow  a tip off because of FF string. Have fun with it!

cacciatore

No FF with it.
I still have a Personal, that was his exotic wood riser bow with 2 set of limbs one makes a 48" and second a 50".Craftmanship was behind compare and they were very good shooters.Since John Morris had some issues in working with exotic woods he quit the bowbuilding business. What a loose! !!This is a page of his brochure.
