I got a pair of Carson brand 10x42 from optics planet for $300 and they rival swarovski. You can tell the difference but even in low light they are bright. Check them out

Here is what I did, I called each company about their warranty after I had my choices narrowed down. I'll never own a Nikon product again just because of customer service. Leupold, I love, I have rifle scopes from them and love the golf rings. But when I spoke to Vortex about their so called best warranty in the business. I was sold, not only with the warranty but with the quality of glass as well, they said I would have my binos back 3-4 days from the time they received them, no matter what was wrong with them, they would fix them or replace them...NO QUESTIONS ASKED! I explained that I bought them used and they were only a few weeks old, but I was the second owner, they said no problem! This was a huge factor to me as I hunt hard and beat my gear up, that's what its for right, I love the fact that I would only be without binos for a few days if I ran them over with my truck days before a hunt of a lifetime! Lol!  Nikon told me 8-10 weeks for a scope that was busted right out of the box! I am all about warranty and customer service!

Customer service means everything to me.  When I was shopping for bow, I would ask a bowyer  questions about their bows and would not seem interested in taking about them.  So, I was not going to spend my money on them.  Thanks for the info guys keep in coming.

I know this wasn't one of your ideas, however I have a pair of Sightron 10x42 that I feel are clearer than my uncle's Burris, and my buddies Leupold Green Rings (not sure about the quality of the green rings) and they have a no questions ask OVER THE COUNTER warranty policy and as far as I know they are made in the USA

Had to replace my binoculars last summer.  After comparing Pentax, Steiner, Nikon, Leupold, and Cabela's for clarity, warranty, price, and weight, I went with the Leupold Mojave 8x42s.  Very clear and very light weight.

The coatings on the lenses do not seem to scratch at all, even when hunting in dry, dusty, sandy conditions.

Have had very good luck with Leupold scopes on rifles.  Don't know how good their customer service is because I have not had to return anything.
