Allegheny Mt Bows - Your Thoughts Please
« on: May 07, 2010, 01:09:00 AM »
Was looking at Allegheny's website and they seem to provide a nice bow at a reasonable price.

Has anyone had any experience with them after Kerner sold the business to Jeff?

And has anyone shot or do shoot Jeff's bows, What do you think?

Thanks
Jake

I've seen them at a couple of shoots here in NJ. The workmanship is nice. The limb design looks kind of unusual. I tried a longbow and shot it surprisingly well even though it was more draw weight than I was used to.

I will see them again next weekend in Baltimore. Want pictures? Any questions for me to write down and ask them?

Killie

You are too kind.  I am mostly interested in the fit and finish.(a close up pic would be nice)  and how the grip feels, looks a little squared off in the throat on the belly side.

Thanks so much!

I really like mine. I have the green mountian bow that is shown on their web page. It was Jeffs personal bow had him make me a super mountian bow. When Jeff came to Kalamazoo ordered a recurve that is going to be made same as super mountian bow. The long bows are very quiet. Jeff is great guy to deal with his grips are hand done. If you like smaller more rounded grip he will make it that way.

I love mine its so quite its unreal. Its pretty fast its smooth its just a great bow. I actually want another in prettier woods. Oh and its as light as a feather.

I have one.  43# @ 28".  Got it just recently.  First time I picked it up I shot a bunch of arrows, indoors at about 12 or so yards.  They all flew right where I was looking and they weren't even correctly tuned.  So I bought it -- after a little himming and hawing.

Haven't shot it too much as deer opener is Saturday, but I like the way it shoots.  Very fast for such a light weight.

I plan to shoot it a lot more after the seasons are over.
