Brett, it appears as though your actual draw length on a traditional bow differs from a compound. If your arrows are 27 1/2" inches which are measured from the back of the point to the bottom of the arrow nock groove where the string touches, your actual draw length cannot exceed arrrow length. Here is a test take an arrow and pull it back to your anchor, now have someone mark the arrow at the front of the riser. Now measure the arrow to this point. This is your actual draw length. I also used to shoot compound 28" draw , but now shooting traditional actual draw 26". Hope this helps.
