What works better: The backing of the carpet or the Knap of the carpet facing forward?
I've found the backing does better.

If you look at the carpet in the photos you will see:

the first layer of carpet nap faces forward, the second is backing forward, and the last is nap forward. I think the friction of the backing is what really stops the arrows. The nap helps.
