Lone Wolf Alpha for me, I rarely hunt the same tree twice and love the versatility of the Lone Wolf.

If you find the guy with my stolen Sabor climber you can have it for free. At least a real archer will have it then.

I have both and use them for different applications.  I use the Chippewa when I have to hike in pretty far to a place.  My knapsack straps fit perfect over the wedges and make for an easy carry.  I use the lone wolf when I'm not going to far or am planning on leaving the stand up for a while.  I use the lone wolf sticks but would like something that sticks out from the tree a little more than the steps do on them.  It can make for some interesting climbing with large boots on.

I agree with what ChuckC said,I prefer the Chippewa, you can use chains or straps for attachment easy to hang and quiet.

LW and sticks for 15 years.  Easy up like Jon S said.  I have friends who hunt like me and they use the Chippewa- pretty awesome too.  Both are dead quiet setting up and in the cold (set-up is critical for me as I set up new every sit!) This dead quiet set-up is where all others have fallen off my list.

FYI- the LW Assault platform and Alpha are basically only 1" different main platform size.  The main difference is the Alpha has larger back corners- but I can't see where you will ever need them! The Assault is more stream lined and a bit lighter.

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.

I still use a pre-China model Ol' Man, and still love it - except it gets heavier every year ( funny, it used to be the lightest one around     )

I've been using a Gorilla Silverback for several years. For the money, I don't think that you could find a better stand.

I mostly use Gorrila Hang-Ons because they can be bought for $70 or so on sale and I need several.  I also have a Summit Climber but rarely need it because I hunt edges comprised of very limby trees which I use for cover. I also have some ladder stands which I use in areas with very good cover (my ladders are only 15 feet high -- about 3-5 feet lower than I prefer). For steps I really like the rail climbing systems although I also have strap on steps -- I buy almost all my climbing accessories after the season for huge discounts at Dick's Sporting goods, Meir's, etc. The fall restraint devices are extremely important. I've bowhunted 44 years without falling.  This means, given the odds that 33% of us will eventually fall and 10% of those who do will die or be permaently injured, some unfortunate souls have "fallen" for me.

Of the climbers I now own I like them best in this order. Lone Wolf Hand climber, Summit Open Shot, Equalizer, Summit Viper an old API Shoot'n Star. Got rid of all my Loc-on, due to not liking to fool with any of the available steps. Back when I was younger we used pole climbers. However, I'm going to get another Loc-On Spirit this summer and put in an area with thick short trees..bout 4 or 5 steps will do it.

Rapid rails and a tree saddle.

Lone Wolf Hand Climber!  I can shoot my 68" Hills out of this one....just like a loc-on.  I also use Ol Man Visions.  Killed many deer from both!
