Do you have a Roving/Stumping setup?
« on: May 24, 2010, 06:07:00 PM »
I know you all have a favourite or experimental hunting setup, but do you have one for stumping?
I'm guessing many of you will just exchange your BH for an equal weighted field point when not hunting,
but I'm curious none the less.

Here is my 'not yet tried' setup!
47@27 Classic Whip, 35/55 GTs reinforced with about 240gr up front 3x Judos & 1 Fluflu field point..
Also a horn-selfnocked bamboo arrow with a wicked RFA Talon to give to a friend once I've tried it myself! ^^

My tendonitis has been a pest since February so I've to much spare time, being unable to shoot and all..

Edit : Yes I know the bamboo one looks like a boomerang, but I've not yet aquired a heatgun..

Pretty much use the same stuff I could hunt with ,but lately I have dropped some poundage. Bows around 40-48# cedar arrows with judos and a few flu-flus with blunts.....and then just have fun!!!

yup, i've got a roving/stumping setup, it's called 'my hunting longbow'  :D   the best thing about roving is tuning up for hunting, no need for any other bow - at least, for me!  ymmv!

It kind of depends on what my mood is for the day.

Mostly my hunting bow, but some times the mood hits me to take one of the backups.

:bigsmyl:

I have been known to take a mood myself.
I start settling into my hunting rig right after ATAR, so as to get into the groove with THAT bow and THOSE arrows.

Always with my hunting setup...what better way to get prepared for the season than to shoot what you are going to hunt with.
