a BIG thank you to Jay Kidwell
« on: May 28, 2010, 05:34:00 PM »
I have been struggling with target panic now for a full year and that has not been a joyride!
I have tied numerous different tips, and seen a lot of DVD`s with different solutions on this joy killer.

Finally I bought the book Instinctive Archery Insights written by Jay Kidwell(aka J-KID on the forum). This has been a tremendous help for me, but I have not been able to get the monster totally of my back.

Then I did read Mr. Kidwells  post  http://tradgang.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=6;t=001918
And after reading his post I did send him a pm asking if I could send him an email about my tp problem.

He responded immediately that I should try to write down as good as I could the way the tp was troubling me, and send it to him.

I did that and Mr. Kidwell responded to me with a very good and long letter with tips about how I should go on with my training.
I have just been out training after his recommendations and for the first time in months, I could draw my bow from 5 to 60 yards without getting a flinch or an urge to a premature release, or a premature hold. It just went smoothly and finally for the first time in many months I actually see a light in the very dark TP tunnel.

I just can`t thank the good Mr. Kidwell enough.

So if some of you tradgangers have a similar problem I will highly recommend the book Instinctive Archery Insights from Jay Kidwell.

I tell everyone. . . I had the same experience with Jay's book AND his willingness to coach me via email.

He is the real deal and the only answer out there that I have seen that truly deals with the sources of TP. His insights are essential for every archer.

His insights, though focused for archers, is the same exact stuff that other individual performance pro/Olympian athletes use.

I think his book is one of the must reads if you want to really shoot well. I constantly recommend it to all new stickbow shooters. It's good to hear he is the genuine article. Frank

I just got his book and I'm reading through it. So far I am really enjoying and learning. I got TP a few months ago.
I guess I need to PM him myself after I've gone through the book?

I read his book and went to a seminar with him. He definitely helped me out. It took months of discipline but by the time fall hunting season came, I was in the "zone". I recommend reading the book and DOING NOT TRYING what he suggest.

Absolutely agreeing with you!
I`ve been working on the training Mr. Kidwell recommended this weekend and the biggest struggle is not to got to fast forward and start shooting my heavier hunting bow, now that I am seeing and feeling that I`m really is improving and starting to get back control on my shooting  :archer2:

He helped me a couple of years ago via e-mail and straightened my problems out quickly. Thanks again Mr. Kidwell!  Ben
I would've taken better care of myself,if I'd known I was gonna live this long!
